Impression – Four Corners Books

On Friday we visited Four Corners Books to pick their brains on publishing, from manufacturing to design.

Four Corners is a great small publishing house set up by Richard Embray & Elinor Jansz in 2004. They produce exquisitely designed books (usually by John Morgan), that really accentuate the book as a cherished object, a keepsake which you want to show off, rather than something more ephemeral. Two of my favourites that I have come across so far are: Dracula and Kafka – Blumfeld: An Elderly Bacholar

We discussed our ideas so far for our Anthology re-design and the kind of processes that will and will not be possible within the budget, as well as general publishing advice from them. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole meeting and thought it helped a lot with planning our designs as well as understanding the whole process.
