Craig Oldham is a refreshing character.
He has that great northern accent where he can swear constantly and yet you don’t really even notice.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of his talk was his detailed history of the miners strike, and the political, economical and cultural context surrounding it. His book In Loving Memory Of Work is a wonderful homage to and view from the miners side of the story. Find it here:
The text on the jacket of the first edition is screen printed using coal dust ground up. So good. Also the type face is based on the text from Liaison picket banners.
